Prep 2: Week 7
Date: 7th Jun 2020 @ 2:31pm
Prep 2 Class Blog Week Beginning 2nd June
Well done to all of Prep 2 for settling back to work after the holiday. It has been a busy first week with children working hard at home and at school.
Prep 2 have enjoyed the English work this week on superheroes. They read the story, 'Superheroes – All Sorts', and realised that there are lots of heroes in everyday life. They wrote sentences and captions about their favourite superheroes and described themselves as superheroes.
Mrs Beecroft was incredibly pleased with the reading she heard this week in Zoom sessions. The children have made good progress.
In Maths the children have been using number facts to add 1-digit numbers to 2-digit numbers and have been exploring patterns in additions. They have also been identifying o’clock times, answering questions about days of the week, and ordering the months of the year.
The calendar work done in Maths also contributed to the learning project work on celebrations. Prep 2 have lots to celebrate in June as there are six birthdays.
Mrs Beecroft has enjoyed seeing Prep 2 via zoom and in school and is pleased with all the children.
This week’s stars are:
Gwyneth for lovely manners and for great chalk drawing on the playground.
Rose for reading very well to Mrs Beecroft on Zoom. She has been working hard and has made her mummy and daddy proud.
Mel for working hard at home, practising the cello and learning Spanish. Mel has also been enjoying spending time with her sister Millie.
