Prep 4 Class Blog Week Beginning 18th May
As we have now reached the final week before the half term break, I want to congratulate everyone in Prep 4 for being so amazing. The girls have adapted to the new method of home schooling, with its up and downs, whilst acquiring important new skills. It has been wonderful to witness many finished pieces of work, together with photographs of achievements, both large and small, but all equally important.
Here are just some of my Prep 4 Stars for this week:
In English the girls have been studying word families which follows last week’s work identifying root words. They have also been using their knowledge of similes and metaphors to write pet poetry. Alice I, wrote a humorous poem while managing to incorporated rhyme too. Amelia is proud to show off her beautiful handwriting and after enjoying time in the paddling pool she relaxed by reading Harry Potter in the garden.
Maths this week focused upon volume and capacity using litres and millilitres. Erin G has kept on task despite the challenge to calculate with 4-digit numbers and must be feeling very grown up. She is to be commended for all her hard work whilst in school this half term, as both mummy and daddy are key workers.
The ‘Food’ learning project inspired many to create their own dishes, both sweet and savoury. Olivia concocted a wonderful spaghetti carbonara together with a Greek salad, (one of my favourites). Also Ella created her very own banana split, comprising banana, chocolate, marshmallow, sauce and sprinkles. She popped it into the oven for 20 minutes before enjoying. Hmmm delicious.
Everyone should feel proud of what they have already achieved and now deserve a well earned break.
