Prep 4 2018 - 2019
Prep 4 Class Teacher
Prep 4 and Prep 5 Teaching Assistant
A Very Warm Welcome to Prep 4!
The children have settled well and responded quickly to the routines and expectations of Prep 4.
We are very proud of them all!
Building on the confidence that the girls have gained in previous years, we are particularly promoting independence skills. In prep 4, they are encouraged to organise their own equipment, solve problems by thinking for themselves and to feel comfortable about making mistakes because, after all, we learn from them!
The girls will experience a broad and balanced curriculum, including daily English and Maths lessons, with appropriate support and challenge. Some of the foundation subjects are taught by specialist teachers with expert curriculum knowledge.
The year ahead brings several trips and visitors to deepen the learning taking place. We will be experiencing a day in the life of a hunter gatherer from the Stone Age in February and visiting The Grovesnor Museum in May.
We are certain there will be many memories to treasure as well as a lot of hard work!
Thank you to all parents for your continuous support in making your child’s school journey as smooth as it can be.
We are very happy to meet with you should you have anything you wish to discuss.
Mrs Armstrong and Mrs Mullan
The children have had great fun investigating our collection of rocks and gem stones these past two weeks. Thank you for all the contributions from home.
On Thursday, we were treated to a dynamic singing session with Mrs Bray who is the head of music at Loreto Grammar School.
Please check book bags for information about how to use My maths and a list of suggested reads for 7-8 year-olds.
Many thanks for your support.
