Crossford Bridge Cross Country,Sale -8th February 2020

A huge well done to the 16 girls who completed in the 3rd race of the Sale Harriers Cross-Country series at Crossford Bridge on Saturday morning and what a race it was! The girls showed their usual enthusiasm in the lead up to the race and a new level of inner strength and determination during it: Eva Sherry refused to drop out or give up despite a rough start resulting in a poor place start and a few tears. Her grim determination however, ensured that she not only completed the race but finished well up the field. Sadie Clinch started running in trainers, which she promptly lost within the first 100m and completed the race barefoot but full of smiles. Ellie Jaberi chose to run despite being unwell the night before and even though she looked particularly peaky coming up the home straight, her refusal to give in, resulted in her coming through as Loreto’s first runner. Consistent good running, showing marked improvements from Olivia Cowell, Orla McCarthy, Alice Gough and Jessica Haigh. A rewarding run with a new PB from Grace Gough. Solid performances from Olivia Kinkead, Olivia McDonald and Honor Charnley and great efforts from Megan Taylor, Grace Kilcoyne, Eme Fixter and Wenqi Zhang. Brilliant to see Caitlyn Edmonson, who has now completed her first so hardest Cross-Country run! A few absent faces were missed as a result of the half term holidays but all in all, a very enjoyable Saturday morning! Thankyou girls:)
