Prep 6 York Residential Trip
This week, the girls of Prep 6 were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of our foundress Mary Ward. They immersed themselves in the life of Mary Ward and discovered what Mary Ward’s legacy for them is by attending a residential trip to York.
As part of the visit to York, the Prep 6 girls visited The Bar Convent and museum, York Minster, St Thomas’ Osbaldwick and Osmotherley. By participating in Mass, workshops, services and other activities, the girls have come to know more of the reasons why our foundress is such an inspiration to us and how we have inherited her strength to make a positive change in our world.
Prep 6 also went to Jorvik Viking Centre and Dig to support the work they are doing in Humanities on the Vikings and learned how stained glass windows are made at York Minster. They were even brave enough to go on a ghost walk!
The girls were delighted to meet Sr. Catherine, Mrs Knowles and many Loreto sisters, who accompanied them on their discovery of Mary Ward’s life and work.
We are so proud of our Prep 6 girls and truly believe that these, ‘women in time to come, will do much’.
